Max Brenner and the crazy Brazilian Meat Buffet!!

So they day started off pretty mellow - a trip to Smith Street (I think that's what it is called) where the Adidas and Nike factory outlets were situated, and then we went home to rest for a while. Oh in Melbourne there are these wicked cool things called 'hook turns' (see bottom left of the above picture for instructions) and I think Perth should make some too. Drew bought some woollen or fake woollen long sleeve things and a nice scarf - which he later grew to regret. The buying of the scarf I mean. It is a nice scarf though.

MAX BRENNER!! Oh my yama ridiculous pro. The layout and ambience of the place is fantastic, made me want to buy every damn thing in the shop. The menu was pro, the pictures IN the menu were more pro than the menu itself but most importantly the chocolate was pro. Thick hot chocolate in the coolest cups I have ever used at a cafe ('Hug Mugs', supposed to wrap your hands around them I think). I think I got a Venezuelan Milk Chocolate and Drew got an American one. Both pro though highly recommend anything from the menu at Max Brenner. Oh and the Melbourne Central one is less crowded than the QV one, by the way.

But the highlight of the night had to be the half-price Tuesday at Blue Fire. Blue Fire is a Brazilian barbecue place which was quite ridiculously priced (our meal would have cost about 65AUD each) but there is a specialty buffet they call 'Churrasco' or Churra something. Basically everyone has a double sided coaster with a red and green side. Red means stop serving and green means bring it on :). The waiters bring out freshly barbequed meats and some seafood after a delicious entree of roasted vegetables and bruschetta, and continue to serve you until you cannot go on any more. Chicken, lamb, calamari, fish, pork, random other meats- you get the idea. Drew ate till he literally vomitted, and that takes some doing. I was sickly full too - the molten chocolate dessert at the end was what got me. Joanne had aout 15 cobs of corn which is still 10 shy of her personal best of 25. Basically - we were all stuffed to the brim. Walking home was an effort and from memory we watched Heroes until the wee hours of the night. Blue Fire is a must-have experience for all you wannabe buffet heroes - you haven't had a buffet until you have had a meat only buffet at Blue Fire! Only on Tuesdays though...
