The first official day of the Hillsong conference. With Drew serving as a volunteer I was basically left on my own to fend for myself like a helpless little boy. It wasn’t all that bad though, with the first session featuring a time of praise and worship led by Darlene Zschech and the Hillsong band followed by a message from John Bevere (who Drew claims is the smartest preacher at the conference so far). The second morning session had Chris Tomlin lead in worship followed with preaching from Brian Houston.
After we split up into our electives we headed towards the Howee Complex (I think that’s how to spell it) where Chris Tomlin led worship with his world famous song How Great Is Our God – which he composed, by the way. Jentezen Franklin preached about worship and so ended the first 3 sessions of the Hillsong Conference. We headed to DFO (minus Drew) which is the Direct Factory Outlet located about 5 minutes away from Conference and had lunch before doing a little bit of shopping.

John Bevere preached again at the 4.30pm session followed by Louie Giglio’s ‘Indescribable’ presentation before which Chris Tomlin led praise and worship. All in all it was a pretty tiring day with all the wandering around and random walking and lack of sleep amongst other things, but all was made good with a visit to Krispy Kreme where a couple of free BOXES of donuts lifted my spirits just a little J.
P.S may I just mention how ridiculously expensive the internet is here at Hillsong. That’s about all I have to say really. It’s worth it though J
